Itinerary

Day 1Leh Arrival – Acclimatization & Secret Leh

Your Himalayan adventure begins as you land at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, where our team welcomes you with traditional white scarves (khataks). Instead of rushing to standard sights, we take you to Leh’s hidden viewpoints – including a secluded spot above the city with 360-degree Himalayan vistas. Enjoy a slow-paced afternoon at Chubi Village, interacting with local farmers and learning about traditional barley cultivation. As the sun sets, we’ll arrange a private butter lamp lighting ceremony at a 15th-century nunnery.

Day 2Leh to Lamayuru – Moonland & Monk Encounters

Depart early for the dramatic drive to Lamayuru, stopping first at the magnetic hill optical illusion. Beyond the usual photo stop, we’ll take you to a nearby ancient meditation cave used by monks for centuries. Arriving in Lamayuru, explore the “Moonland” rock formations on a guided hike through this surreal landscape. The highlight? A private evening chanting session with Lamayuru Monastery’s monks as the valley turns golden.

Day 3Lamayuru to Nubra – The Road Less Traveled

Instead of the typical Khardung La route, we take you via Wari La Pass (17,500 ft) – a secret military road with zero tourist crowds and better views than Khardung La. Stop at Turtuk Village, the last outpost before Pakistan, where you’ll meet Balti people and explore their 800-year-old irrigation systems. In Nubra, skip the crowded Hunder dunes for Sumur Village’s tranquil monastery and apricot orchards.

Day 4Nubra to Pangong – The Ultimate Himalayan Crossing

Today’s adventure follows the Shyok River “Death Road” – a thrilling jeep track few tourists experience. We’ll stop at hidden hot springs only locals know about, then visit the Durbuk nomad settlement to see how pashmina wool is collected. Arriving at Pangong, we’ve secured exclusive lakeside luxury camps away from the crowded tourist section.

Day 5Pangong to Tso Kar – Wild Lakes & Nomad Life

Most tours return to Leh, but we venture deeper to Tso Kar Lake, Ladakh’s best-kept secret. This saltwater lake hosts rare black-necked cranes and nomadic changpa herders. Visit their yak wool tents, help make traditional butter tea, and if lucky, witness the ancient salt harvesting process. Stay overnight in eco-friendly bungalows with million-star views.

Day 6Tso Kar to Leh – The Grand Finale

Our final day features the spectacular Taglang La Pass (17,582 ft) with a surprise picnic at a glacial waterfall. Before returning to Leh, we arrange a private blessing ceremony at Thiksey Monastery’s rooftop, where monks will tie protective strings (sungdi) around your wrists. The tour concludes with a farewell Ladakhi feast featuring skyu (local pasta) and chhang (barley beer).
