It is named after famous Kashmiri poetess Habba Khatoon. Another attraction of this place is Habba Khatoon spring. Lucid water gushing out of the mountain range is crystal clear and has medicinal properties also will cover Tulail Valley via Dawar. This valley is one of the remotest valleys of the region. Day 5Lolab – Banugus Valley (Day trip)

The Bangus Valley comes among the top valleys in Kashmir and is an untouched natural beauty that soothes the soul of its visitors. The valley has vast green meadows that stretch as far as the vision goes. The valleys are covered with colourful wildflowers that add a splash of joy and brightness to the valley’s natural beauty. Poets like to refer to Lolab asa true destination and as “land of love and beauty”. Lolab valley is 5km wide and 26 km long. It is located at a distance of 120 Kms from Srinagar in Kupwara district. Lolab is a combination of three valleys, Potnai valley, Brunai valley and Kalaroos valley. There are beautiful Nagmarg meadows, which separate Lolab from Bandipora district. The headquarters of Lolab is situated at Sogam. It is said that Sogam was very densely populated a long time ago, when Kashmir valley was still a lake called “Satisar”.
Travelers visiting Lolab also visit the resting place of a famous saint Kashyap reshi, which is located at a distance of 1 km from village Lalpur. A spring called Lavnag can be found nearby. The spring is three feet deep and has crystal clear water. Gauri spring is another major spring in the area. Government has taken several steps to maintain Lolab Valley to its pristine beauty.

Day 6Lolab Valley – Machil and Kalaroos (Day trip)

The Machil Valley lies on the Northern fringes of the Kashmir Valley in the District of Kupwara. Its nestled around the Machil River and in geographical terms its stands North of the Lolab Valley across the Zamindar Gali, a Pass that needs to be crossed in order to get into the Machil Valley. It lies close to the Line of Control and as such the access is limited. Its nonetheless a beautiful area which is like a mix of Lolab Valley to the South and Gurez Valley to the East.

Machil / Matsil
Machil or Matsil as its called was always a fascinating little place for people since they read about its beauty and remote location. Though the Civilian Authorities and the Army call it Machil or Machal (not to be confused with Machail of Paddar, Kishtwar) the locals call it Matsil. The name is derived from the
Dardic word for Fish. Its said that once upon a time the Matsil River which drains the Valley was full of Fish.

The Kalaroos Caves, also known as Qil-e-Roos are an ancient network of caves located in the  Kupwara
district  of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The site has been the subject of various unverified claims, largely due to the belief that the caves connect the Kashmir Valley with Russia (or Rous). Local legends suggest that the caves may contain secret tunnels leading to the neighboring countries; however, these assertions remain unverified, and no archaeological research has been conducted to substantiate
them.  Dinner & Overnight

Day 7Lolab Valley to Keran Valley (Night Stay)

After breakfast, proceed for Keran Valley. The village is said to have been established by Raja Karn in the tenth century. In 1990, the Indian army relocated the villagers due to frequent firing and shelling by the Pakistan Army. In 1992, a flood swept over the cultivated land. With the fresh cease-fire accords between the governments of both countries, the valley has witnessed peace across the border. With the opening of border tourism in 2012, Keran has become one of the favourite offbeat locations for tourists. The year 2023 has seen the highest footfall of tourists proceeding through Keran Valley. One of the reasons for this is the introduction of e-permissions for non-resident tourists.

Day 8Keran to Teetwal via Tangdar (Night Stay)

It's located on the banks of the Kishanganga River, 82 km from the district headquarters of Kupwara. Teetwal is close to the Line of Control with Pakistani-administered Kashmir.
