Once settled, step aboard a beautifully decorated Shikara (wooden boat) for a peaceful glide across the lake. As you float past water lilies, floating gardens, and centuries-old houseboats, absorb the calm and cool mountain air. In the evening, enjoy a cup of Kahwa while gazing at the reflection of the Zabarwan Mountains in the still waters.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Doodhpathri, a pristine, lesser-known destination in Kashmir. Tucked away in the Budgam district, this untouched valley is surrounded by pine-covered hills and gushing streams. The name “Doodhpathri” (Valley of Milk) comes from the milky appearance of the stream running through it. Walk along the alpine meadows, enjoy a picnic-style lunch, and if you’re up for it, try a short pony ride across the grasslands. Unlike the crowded tourist hubs, Doodhpathri offers peace, silence, and raw natural beauty. Return to Srinagar by evening.

Riverbank picnic near the Shaliganga stream
Horse ride across meadows (optional)

In the afternoon, dive into Srinagar’s Old City where intricate wooden mosques like Jamia Masjid await, and end the day shopping for hand-embroidered shawls, saffron, and local spices in Lal Chowk.
