Upon your arrival at Srinagar Airport, you’ll be welcomed by the crisp mountain air and the timeless charm of the city. After checking into your hotel or houseboat, begin your Kashmir experience with a leisurely Shikara ride on Dal Lake, gliding past floating gardens, lotus blooms, and traditional wooden houseboats. Later, explore the famed Mughal Gardens—Nishat Bagh (Garden of Joy), Shalimar Bagh (Abode of Love), and Chashme Shahi (Royal Spring)—all beautifully laid out against the backdrop of Zabarwan hills. Cap your day with a visit to the Shankaracharya Temple, perched atop a hill with panoramic views of the entire valley. In the evening, stroll through Srinagar’s local handicraft markets, known for pashmina shawls, carpets, and hand-carved wooden artifacts.
Overnight Stay: Srinagar
After breakfast, set off on a scenic drive to Gulmarg, a lush hill station renowned for its verdant meadows and winter snow. Surrounded by pine forests and towering peaks, Gulmarg offers breathtaking landscapes year-round. The star attraction is the Gulmarg Gondola, one of the world’s highest cable cars, which takes you up to Apharwat Peak, offering spellbinding views and a chance to play in snow, even during late spring. Adventure lovers can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and snow biking (seasonal). In summer, take a stroll through the Gulmarg Golf Course or hike through wildflower trails. After a full day of mountain magic, return to Srinagar by evening.

Today, head for Sonmarg, the “Meadow of Gold,” nestled along the banks of the Sindh River. The drive itself is spectacular, passing through alpine forests and sleepy villages. Once in Sonmarg, you can hire a pony or hike up to the Thajiwas Glacier, where even in summer, you may find sheets of snow. Marvel at the shimmering glaciers, turquoise streams, and dramatic mountain backdrops. Adventure seekers can indulge in river rafting in the Sindh River (seasonal). The tranquil setting makes for great photography and peaceful walks. Return to Srinagar by evening for a relaxing night by the lake.

After breakfast, leave Srinagar for the scenic drive to Pahalgam, known as the “Valley of Shepherds.” En route, pass through saffron fields (in season) and stop by the ancient Avantipur ruins—remnants of a grand Hindu temple complex. Upon arrival in Pahalgam, check into your hotel and soak in the peaceful surroundings. Visit Aru Valley, a serene meadow fringed by thick pine forests, and Betaab Valley, named after a Bollywood film and famous for its crystal-clear streams and lush greenery. You may also visit Chandanwari, the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra, or enjoy short treks and pony rides along the river. The Lidder River, which runs through the valley, is ideal for light rafting or riverside picnics.
Overnight Stay: Pahalgam
After a relaxed morning surrounded by nature, begin your drive back to Srinagar Airport for your onward journey. If time allows, you can stop for last-minute shopping, grab some saffron, dry fruits, or Kashmiri souvenirs. As you leave the valley behind, you’ll carry with you the serene landscapes, warm smiles, and the unmatched beauty that defines Kashmir.
