Srinagar International Airport
3 Hours Before Flight Time
Upon your arrival at Srinagar Airport, you’ll be warmly received and driven to the heart of the city, where your traditional Kashmiri houseboat awaits on the shimmering waters of Dal Lake. After check-in and some rest, step aboard a beautifully adorned Shikara and drift across the lake as the sun dips behind the Zabarwan Hills. The calm water reflects snow-capped peaks and carved wooden houseboats, creating an atmosphere of serenity. Spend your evening soaking in the peaceful ambiance, enjoying Kahwa (traditional saffron tea), and settling into the rhythm of the valley.
After breakfast, depart for Sonamarg, a scenic three-hour drive through the Sindh Valley, flanked by towering Himalayan peaks and lush pastures. Known as the “Meadow of Gold,” Sonamarg is the base point for your Amarnath Yatra. You’ll check into a comfortable guesthouse or hotel and spend the afternoon at leisure, acclimatizing to the altitude. If time permits, explore the local meadows or enjoy a quiet walk along the Sindh River. Have an early dinner and rest well for the spiritual journey that begins tomorrow.
Today marks the spiritual pinnacle of your journey. Early in the morning, proceed to the Neelgrath Helipad near Baltal, from where you’ll board a helicopter to Panchtarni—a high-altitude base camp nestled between towering peaks. From Panchtarni, begin the 6-kilometer trek to the holy Amarnath Cave (you may also opt for a pony or palanquin at extra cost). Surrounded by clouds and cliffs, the sacred ice lingam of Lord Shiva awaits inside the cave, radiating divinity and wonder. After darshan, trek back to Panchtarni and return by helicopter to Baltal. From there, drive back to Srinagar and check into your hotel for a well-earned rest.
After a relaxed breakfast, immerse yourself in the cultural splendor of Srinagar. Visit the Shankaracharya Temple, perched atop a hill, offering panoramic views of the city and Dal Lake. Continue to the famed Mughal Gardens—Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, and Chashme Shahi—with their Persian-inspired terraced lawns, flowing fountains, and floral displays. You may also explore the bustling local bazaars for Kashmiri handicrafts, carpets, and spices. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Today, embark on a full-day excursion to Gulmarg, about two hours from Srinagar. This enchanting hill resort, draped in wildflowers during summer and snow during winter, offers stunning alpine views. Take the Gondola cable car up to Apharwat Peak for a breathtaking panorama of snow-dusted mountains. Adventure seekers can indulge in sledging, skiing, or ATV rides, depending on the season. In the late afternoon, return to Srinagar for a relaxing evening and overnight stay.
After breakfast, head southward to Pahalgam, a picturesque town known for its pine forests, gurgling streams, and peaceful ambiance. On arrival, check into your riverside hotel and enjoy the crisp air. Explore the scenic Betaab Valley and Aru Valley, both known for their cinematic beauty. If you wish, opt for a pony ride to Baisaran, a rolling meadow with postcard views, often dubbed “Mini Switzerland.” Spend the evening strolling along the Lidder River or enjoying a quiet dinner in the hotel.
Your final day in Kashmir begins with a relaxed breakfast in the lap of nature. After check-out, begin your return drive to Srinagar Airport. As you pass by saffron fields, apple orchards, and streams glistening in the sun, you’ll carry with you the divine memories of Amarnath Darshan, the calm of Dal Lake, and the timeless charm of the valley. Arrive at the airport in time for your return flight—spiritually fulfilled and naturally rejuvenated.
